Perfect Flow, a thick fluid dispenser system, combines a pressure vessel with an internal piston to create a sealed, pneumatic dispensing container for viscous fluids and pastes. Dispensing and handling thick fluids has traditionally been a messy and expensive operation. A new technology developed by CHI Technologies Inc. makes dispensing adhesives, lubricants and many other viscous fluids clean and efficient.

The system has a sealed pressure container with an inert gas inlet and a viscous material ingress and egress opening. An internal piston is within the container. The internal piston has a lower, hull portion and upper portion that join along a circular interface region. The diameter of the circular interface region is smaller than the inner diameter of the container. The viscous material forms a gaseous pressure seal between the interface region of the piston and the inside of the pressure container. The inert gas is the motive force to dispense the viscous material. A generic example of the internal parts of the package is depicted in Figure 1, below.

Benefits Summary

The Perfect Flow ™ technology provides the following benefits:

Clean:

· Users never handle a thick-fluid pump since the system either replaces the thick-fluid pump altogether or, if an auxiliary pump is required, it is permanently located and connected to the system with a quick-connect fitting

· Eliminates the costs and problems from fluid containers being either pierced by forklifts or crushed by heavier equipment

· Users will more quickly, more easily, and much more cleanly refill thick-fluid dispensing guns

· Eliminates the mess attendant to proper disposition of disposable fluid containers since the technology eliminates disposable fluid containers

Fast:

· Reducing container change-out time by 95% by eliminating inserting and removing fluid pumps from the fluid container and the system’s quick-connect fittings

· Dispensing rates can be extremely fast or extremely low, varying from 1,000 kilograms per minute or more to 1 gram per day or less as required by the application as a result of the system’s pneumatic power

Safer:

· Reduces slipping accidents by preventing product spills due to the system’s clean operation

Self-powered:

· The system operates independently dispensing fluids with no external power source using instead the system’s internal, inert gas as a motive force

Low residual:

· Product residual is minimal since the invention’s internal boat dispenses nearly all the product in the container

Adds value

· Lowers user worker’s compensation claims by providing a cleaner, safer work environment
· Product is not contaminated by the "kitty litter" acquired when pumps are changed from empty containers to full containers since the invention eliminates removing and inserting of fluid pumps
· Unit volume purchases are reduced by up to 30% through waste minimization
· Users pay only for the product they use since suppliers’ weigh containers in and out
· The system eliminates follower-plate hang-up costs through its unique internal design where the system's boat does not touch the container sidewalls
· Product lines do not need to be "bled" before resuming production since the system eliminates air pocket contamination
· Eliminates dented drums, kegs, and pails using the system’s more robust containers
· Eliminates air-pocket contamination, which is deleterious to pump operation, since the invention eliminates pump removal and insertion in fluid containers and the improved filling of the system’s containers by suppliers
· Production line pulse dampeners are not required since the system provides non-mechanical (no moving parts), non-pulsating product dispensing and transferring

Higher Operational Flexibility:

· Users can more easily and more quickly modify, reduce or expand their operational fluid transfer capability without installing or removing piping since the technology is self-contained and is available in a flexible configuration and sizes – fully scalable in portable, bulk, and portable/bulk containers

Increased Asset Utilization:

· Enables industrial users to generate more revenue from their physical space because of the system’s portability
Reduced environmental and product contamination costs and worker compensation claims: the technology eliminates the need to insert and remove pumps from thick fluids

Portable:

· Portable since its portable segment is easily moved by way of its hand cart for industrial applications

Higher Operational Effectiveness:

· Provides fluid marketers increased sales and brand loyalty because it offers users convenience and excellent value

Higher Operational Reliability:

· Increases fluid system reliability since the invention eliminates fluid pumps

Instant delivery:

· The system does not require priming and uses no internal pumps

Longer-lived product quality:

· Product quality is maintained longer because the system is sealed and an inert gas protects the product from oxygen and other contaminants

Waste Minimization:

· Enhances waste minimization since the technology eliminates disposable fluid containers

Remote monitoring:

· Smart Systems enable users to remotely assess their operational effectiveness by receiving and processing information from the technology’s in-field fluid systems equipped with sensors and communication capability

Improved product delivery:

· The invention can dispense thick fluids at a constant, ratable rate because the technology is non-mechanical and non-pulsating

High convenience:

· The system is quiet and has instant delivery since it uses no pumps

High user value:

· The system both lowers users' costs and has non-economic benefits

Independent operation:

· The system is usable in remote locations where external power is not available since the system is self-powered

Easy to use:

· The system is very user friendly and compatible with union shops

Environmentally friendly:

· Containers are 100% recyclable, and the work environment is kept clean with the sealed dispensing system and elimination of internal pumps;

Quiet:

· The system is extremely quiet system that makes no noise while dispensing thick fluids since the invention has no moving parts
